About Our Show
Each year in March our club joins four other clubs to sponsor the
Central Florida Koi Show. For those of you new to koi shows, this
is a large show with participants coming from all over the USA and some
internationally as well. There will be 50+ show tanks again this
year and many koi, goldfish, and plant vendors.
If you are thinking of buying a new filter or need special pond hardware
like water or air pumps, then shop among the vendors for some good
deals. Our show was one of the first to offer a wet lab and this year we
are pleased that we will be able to offer this again for the 2007 show.
Each year we bring in some of the best speakers for our seminars.
Registration for the seminars is the only charge at the show and the
cost is small compared to other special hobbyist events that can cost
hundreds of dollars.
This year the show has been
selected by the ZNA USA District to host the ZNA Presidents' annual
business meeting. Whereas the meeting is open only to ZNA reps,
hosting the meeting expands the number of people attending the show and
opens up opportunities to meet and talk to some of the more well known
experts in the koi hobby. We hope to have another ZNA Judging
seminar enjoyed by many people last year.
We are very pleased to have
Galen Hansen as our Head Judge this year. He will be assisted by
Grant Patton and his wife, Penny, and Don Kabashigawa. We will also have
a candidate ZNA judge, Alan Stein.
A show of this magnitude can
not be done without the help of many volunteers who come from the five
sponsoring clubs. We also have many folks who arrive from out of
state who help us a great deal. The interest and enthusiasm of all
our volunteers is appreciated.
This year the show is the second weekend in March (9th-11th). We hope
all the Florida East Coast club members and friends will put this
weekend on the calendar and participate.
